Full Itinerary

Days 1 - 2: Bushie Resort, Skopje.

Discover old Skopje by visiting the second largest old Bazaar in the Balkans. Visit artisan shops, see traditional and modern crafts and meet the keepers of the old Bazaar. Travel to Mount Vodno, the closest mountain as a perfect getaway from the city and immerse yourself in nature. Visit a monastery famous for its original frescoes from the 12th century. 

 

Day 3: Hotel Popova Kula, Demir Kapija.

Visit the ancient Roman city of Stobi where 3D glasses can be used to see gladiator fights and learn about the history of the area. Then onto visit a local family in Kavadarci, where there is a craft studio and gallery. Here you can learn woodcarving and try local specialties.

 

Days 4 - 5: Hotel Royal View, Ohrid.

Visit Demir Kapija and have the choice a number of activities such as hiking, biking, bird watching, rock-climbing or simply trekking and discovering the surroundings. Travel to Bitola to meet the local artisan who will be your lunch host and who will teach you about the local traditional specialties. Eat an unforgettable gourmet lunch, blending authentic flavours with tradition.

 

Visit the pearl of the Balkans by boat and see the beautiful St. Naum Monastery. Ohrid is a blend of centuries old heritage combined with antique and craft-shops where craftsmen proudly present their art. Learn how the famous Ohrid Pearls are made, how an antique replica of Guttenberg Stamp ended here and even try your hand at a few local arts.

 

Days 6 - 7: Bushie Resort, Skopje.

Visit the little scenic town of Struga where you can meet the memory keeper of the town and listen to some poetry and also see the Painted Mosque in Tetovo, a rare gem of the Islamic culture. Explore Skopje where the biggest Roma community live. There are a host of things to do in Skopje such as visit the Museum of Macedonian Struggle or the Archaeological Museum of the Memorial House of Mother Theresa, enjoy a coffee in Skopje Park or dine out at Debar Maalo. Here can find the old Skopje architecture still standing after the terrible earthquake in 1963.
