Loose Herbal Tea Versus Tea Bags

We love loose leaf tea as there are no extra materials or packaging and tea leaves are compostable. Loose tea uses whole leaves which are high quality, and which result in a cup of tea packing a fuller flavour. The tea is superior in taste and properly prepared has room to expand as it steeps. This may take longer to brew but it's certainly worth the wait!

Loose tea also comes in so many varieties and you can also create your own personal combinations. With the variety of tea on hand, there comes an array of different beneficial properties that comes from drinking tea. As loose tea is a higher quality, you'll get a fuller impact to boosting your immune system or reducing inflammation than from a tea bag.

In general tea bags are made of nylon, plastic, or bleached paper and they may have strings or metal staples in them or even sealed with harmful chemicals. You really have to do your research to find a tea bag which doesn't have an impact on the environment. Tea bags are often made from smaller low-grade tea, often called ‘dust’, which probably won't have as full a flavour. The tea is often tightly packed inside a tea bag, so it doesn't have room to expand and give you the full impact of its flavour.
