These statuettes depict African giraffes which stand out because of their tall height and because they are naturally found in almost every wilderness habitat in Kenya. In traditional settings, people used to interact with giraffes a lot. Each of these figurines is hand-carved from soapstone and painted to give it a beautiful finish. I have over fifteen years of experience in soapstone carving. I belong to the Tabaka area in Kisii County, in the southwestern part of Kenya. Having been brought up in a family of sculptors, I learned the art of carving at a very tender age.

Today, I am a seasoned sculptor of all sorts of wild animal figurines, including hippos, giraffes, lions, leopards, and much more.
