Product Description:
The Maasai bridal necklace is the traditional wear for women, worn on different occasions. These colorful masterpieces are made from several rounds of carefully selected beads of different colors and sizes. The beauty of these beads is that they tell a story about the Maasai and of the individual person wearing them. Bead colors in the Maasai Culture are symbolic. Red beads signify blood, bravery, and unity. White represents health, peace, and purity. Blue ones, the color of the sky, represent energy, and green is the color of grass, which signifies land and production. As such, the necklaces carry a special meaning for the Maasai and may at times denote social status. This necklace set includes 3 beautifully handcrafted beaded necklaces.
Kindly Note: Please allow for slight variations in size, shape, and finish/color since this is a handmade craft.

Brand Partner Bio
I am of Maasai origin. The Maasais are an African community well known for their well-preserved cultural heritage. In collaboration with other ladies of my age and clan, I make Maasai beaded jewelry from the Kiserian Market in Kajiado County, the home county of the Maasais.
I learned the invaluable skill of making authentic beaded Maasai jewelry when I was growing up in the village. It is an art I make sure is passed on to the next generation by training younger girls when I head back to the village. To me, beadwork means a lot. It has deep meaning in my community as well, something that I take pride in.
